Web Site for the Northern Cross and Boon Hill Observatories
The current system in the Northern Cross Observatory is a 10" f/8 RC telescope, on a Losmandy G11/Gemini-2 mount. I have a ZWO asi071mc camera as the primary acquisition, with a lodestarx2 guide camera on a On Axis Guiding port. Also an Optec focuser that is computer controlled.
The system is run using SGPro. I connect to the observatory computer remotely from the house computer via Remote Desktop using the Wifi router in the house. Both the observatory computer and the house computers are on the same house router.
The observatory is a rolloff roof design, in my backyard.
This is a simple communications network for the observatory. This allows me to run the system from 150 feet away in my Den. :D
The Boon Hill Observatory is about 180 miles from my home, where I have an 18" f/4.3 StarMaster for viewing, and a warm up room, with electricity.
